CHIP
Technology...on
its way!
ETCU Financial,
in cooperation with Threshold
Financial Technologies, is
transitioning to CHIP - a new
generation of card technology that
will make a safe payment system even
more secure. The new "smart" cards
will contain an embedded microchip
that will put the power of a
computer onto your card. The
microchip will give your card the
ability to store and process data,
providing additional layer of
security against debit card skimming
and the protection of counterfeit
cards.
ETCU expects new MemberCards with
Chip Technology to be delivered to
members before the end of 2010. Stay
tuned!

E-Statements...safe
and good for the environment!
ETCU Financial
has been offering e-statements since
2005. Many of our members who do
online banking and pay their bills
electronically have opted for this
service. Statements are available
through the Homebank link on our
website. Not only is the choice
convenient and
environmentally-friendly, it also
reduces exposure to loss or theft.
Personal documents sent by regular
mail may be lost or stolen, and if
they end up in the wrong hands,
could be used for identity fraud.
To sign up for e-statements, we
need your written authorization to
stop mailing paper statements, and
we'll show you how to get your
statements online. Call the credit
union for further details.

Be
Ding-Free!
ETCU
Joins The Exchange Network!
On
October 23, ETCU Financial
successfully converted its ATM and
POS switching transactions to The
Exchange Network. The banks and
credit unions on The Exchange
Network have agreed to never charge
each other’s cardholders surcharge
fees, for withdrawals or deposits!
You will never pay any additional
fees to access your own money if you
use another participating financial
institutions ATM. Yes, you still
have to pay normal account fees, but
that’s it, nothing extra! This truly
means that credit union members can
use the banks ATM’s on The Exchange
network without incurring any
surcharges, like that annoying $1.50
convenience fee. Just look for The
Exchange logo at or near the ATM to
be ding-free.
