Privacy Policy
Your privacy is a very important matter to us and we are
committed to respecting and safeguarding the privacy of our
members. It has always been fundamental to the way we do
business at ETCU Financial and we are committed to keeping
personal information accurate, confidential, secure and private.
As of January 1, 2004 our practices will conform to the Credit
Union Code for the Protection of Personal Information (the
Code). The code consists of ten interrelated principles that are
outlined as follows:
Accountability - ETCU Financial is responsible for all
personal information under its control including any personal
information disclosed to third parties for processing. ETCU
Financial has established policies and procedures to comply with
the Code and has designated a privacy officer and a deputy
privacy officer to be accountable for compliance.
Identifying Purposes - Before or at the time we ask you
for personal information, ETCU Financial will identify the
purposes for which the information will be used or disclosed.
Consent - The knowledge and consent of the member are
required for the collection, use or disclosure of member
information.
Limiting Collection - The collection of personal
information shall be limited to that which is necessary for the
purposes identified by ETCU Financial.
Limiting Use, Disclosure and Retention - Personal
information will not be used or disclosed for purposes other
than those for which it was collected, except with the consent
of the individual or as required by law. Personal information
shall be retained only as long as necessary for the fulfillment
of those purposes.
Accuracy - Personal information shall be as accurate,
complete and up-to-date as is necessary for the purposes for
which it is to be used.
Safeguarding Member Information - ETCU Financial protects
information with safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of
the information.
Openness - ETCU Financial will make specific,
understandable information readily available about our personal
information policies and practices.
Individual Access - Upon request, ETCU Financial will
give you access to the existence, use and disclosure of your
information. You are entitled to question its accuracy and
completeness, and its uses.
Challenging Compliance - ETCU Financial will provide
procedures to receive and respond to complaints and inquiries
about policies and practices relating to the handling of
personal information. These procedures will be easily accessible
and simple to use.
